A hands-on professional training exploring practical monitoring and evaluation tools for development and project management professionals.
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) is essential for organisations, from development organisations, NGOs and governments to private sector businesses, to track progress, demonstrate results, ensure accountability and drive adaptive improvements.
This practical course equips participants with the knowledge, tools and skills to design, implement and utilise effective M&E systems in diverse Cambodian and regional contexts.
Through interactive sessions, real-life case studies, group exercises and hands-on application, trainees will gain practical experience in building M&E frameworks, collecting and analysing data, and using findings to enhance project performance.
Training Course Details
The course is designed to provide trainees with practical knowledge and skills in project monitoring and evaluation through exercises, case studies and real-world applications.
After completing this course, you will be able to:
Understand core M&E concepts, frameworks and their integration into the project lifecycle
Develop logical frameworks, theories of change, and SMART indicators for results-based monitoring
Apply practical data collection methods (quantitative and qualitative) and ensure data quality
Set up monitoring systems, conduct basic evaluations, and analyse data using accessible tools (e.g., Excel)
Prepare effective reports, visualisations and use M&E findings for decision-making, learning and stakeholder communication

Instructor Biography
With over 16 years' dedicated experience in monitoring, evaluation, research and learning (MERL), the trainer is a recognised specialist in driving evidence-based decision-making across Cambodia’s development landscape. He has designed and implemented robust M&E frameworks for large-scale health, governance and development programmes funded by the World Bank, USAID, the EU, the Global Fund and DFAT. The trainer holds a Master of Rural Development & Project Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from universities in Cambodia.
